Career Transitions Seeks New Board Members

Career Transitions is seeking volunteers to join its dynamic Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is comprised of leaders from the nonprofit and for-profit sector who are dedicated to the organization’s mission. Serving on the Board of Directors is an extraordinary opportunity for individuals who are passionate about assisting clients and families with barriers to employment and economic security. Our mission is to assist and strengthen communities, families, and individuals in becoming self-sufficient through workforce and community development, education, training, and employment.

Board members are expected to attend twelve board meetings per year on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:15 am. Meetings may last until 9:00 am. Meetings are held via Zoom or in person as the Board requests. Board members are expected to read board materials in advance of board meetings and to come prepared to ask questions and participate in discussions.

Board members are expected to responsibly represent Career Transitions to their respective communities and to advocate for its mission, programs, and services as appropriate.

Board members are expected to have the financial acumen to read and understand financial statements and to otherwise help the board fulfill its fiduciary responsibilities.

As the Board grows, members are expected to serve on one or more committees of the board and to actively participate in committee work.

Board terms last for one, two, or three years and board members can serve for up to six years consecutively.
